Gov. Sonny Perdue
announced Tuesday evening that a window and door manufacturing
company will take over the speculative building in the Decatur
County Industrial Park.
TRACO, a leading
manufacturer of window and door systems whose products have
been used on the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building,
will construct a facility in Bainbridge, creating approximately
300 new jobs within the next three years, the governor said.
The company's annual payroll
for Decatur County is expected to be in excess of $4.5 million.
In an effort to attract industry to Decatur County,
the Development Authority undertook a project to build a Speculative
Industrial Building. This facility was constructed in such
a way that the perspective tenant will have major input in
the building's completion, including such factors as specifying
types of floor slabs and number and location of loading docks.
