Seminole BioDiesel, owned by Southwest Georgia Oil, Inc., opened at Commodore Industrial Park in February of 2008. With a 10 million gallon per year production capacity and a on-site bulk storage of almost 500,000 gallons of fuel, Seminole BioDiesel is staged to take advantage of a burgeoning industry that will carry the company into the next generation of service to its customers.
The company expects to employ 20-30 people in direct and supporting positions once it reaches full capacity. The fuel terminal is also state of the art and has storage for biodiesel, its raw materials, as well as petroleum products and ethanol. The loading rack system allows for proprietary truck access and common carrier and customer truck access in an efficient, safe, and controlled environment. Future plans include a rail siding to service the terminal.
